About Me

Hello from Southern California!

My name is Carol Martinez.  I can't believe I'm on my 24th year of teaching already!  You'd think that I'd have it all under my belt by now, but I still feel like I'm learning something new every year.  Besides enjoying my third graders, my colleagues are definitely a big part of why I love teaching...they keep me smiling, laughing, and encouraged.

Besides teaching, I'm a mother of two elementary aged kids, a wife, daughter, aunt, and friend.  I come from a family of teachers.  Both of my parents taught, along with my sister, cousins, aunts, and grandma!  I am honored to carry on the legacy of teaching in our family.

My family enjoys Scouting activities with both kids, camping, swimming, and playing with our puggle, Nacho.  I personally enjoy antiquing (I collect depression glass and vintage Pyrex), walking, music, and have a healthy obsession with Pinterest!

Thanks for checking out my blog.   I was a little nervous about having enough to talk about, but was reminded by more than one source that talking should not be an issue with  me.  Ha ha!!
